Interpreter and Translator
Job Summary:
This position will perform the role of a Senior Level Interpreter and Translator and will be responsible for the full range of activities in processing materials or participating in situations requiring advanced capability to perform translation, interpretation, and relevant training in support of the law firm’s work.
Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.
Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively from English to Mandarin Chinese orally or in writing, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible.
Listen to speakers’ statements to determine meanings and to prepare translation.
Translate a wide variety of complex texts that may contain difficult, idiomatic, scientific, and colloquial writing.
Compile information on content and context of information to be translated and on intended audience.
Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms such as those for legal or medical material.
Read written materials, such as legal documents, scientific works, or news reports, and rewrite material into specified languages.
